What an Apostille looks like.
Posted on 27th May 2025A UK apostille is a square certificate, roughly 15cm in size, which is permanently affixed to your document – usually on the reverse side of your document. It includes an official embossed stamp/seal from the government and outlines ten key details. These cover the issuing country, the name and role of the registered official that has signed certified the document (such as the Notary Public), the location of certification (for example, London), the date of issue, and a unique application reference number. Each section of the Apostille is written in English, and then the French and Spanish translations are featured below. This certificate plays a vital role in the legalisation process, allowing documents to be officially recognised overseas.
