This means your UK document must be certified by the FCDO and then further legalised by the Egypt embassy or consulate in London before it will be accepted.
Legalisation requirements for Egypt
Document for use in Egypt first needs to be legalised by way of FCDO Apostille and then submitted to the Consulate of Egypt for further attestation.
Educational documents do not require prior notarisation or FCDO Apostille, they must be first attested by the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau (ECEB) before submitting to the Consulate for further legalisation.
Notarisation + FCDO Apostille and then submission to the Egyptian Consulate for further legalisation; or
Notarisation + Attestation by the Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce (EBCC) and then submission to the Egyptian Consulate for further legalisation (no FCDO Apostille is required for this option). For this option, the notary public must complete and sign the EBCC ‘Onboarding Form’, which we can provide upon request.
However, certain types of commercial documents, the Egyptian Consulate may requires prior attestation by the EBCC before accepting for legalisation (this can be confirmed upon submission to the consular counter).
